I moved to Utah from Northern California 15 years ago. During that time Chris and I have been trying different sourdough breads that taste like the sourdough we have enjoyed in California. Well, we have found one, finally!! We make it ourselves!

Here’s my Sourdough Story. Ann Boekweg posted on Facebook that she was making Sourdough Bread, $6 a loaf. I decided to buy one and surprise Chris with REAL sourdough bread! I picked it up, it was so pretty! I was so excited to try it. When Chris got home from work we immediately tasted it. I will say, it was delicious bread, alas, not sour enough for us. We actually ate the whole loaf for dinner! Yum!

A few days later Chris and I literally, ran into Ann at Reams. She asked us how we liked the bread. I assured her it was delicious bread but it was not sour enough for our palates. She then said some magic words!… I can make it more sour! Hooray! I was so excited. Ann agreed to make bread for us until she got it right! Yes!

Within 4 days and a few loaves of bread she got it just right!! Yippee!!

Then she gave us the recipe! She invited us to come to her Sourdough Bread Making Class. We did! Ann showed us how to make it ourselves! I have made several loaves and feel so empowered.

Ann, you fed us a loaf of bread and we ate for a day. Then you taught us how to make our sourdough bread and we eat it everyday!

Thank you!
